Professional Development Program for Diaspora School Principals and Teachers

An important initiative aimed at the development of Armenian education in the diaspora has been launched by the M.A.M Armenian online school with the support of AMAA Armenia.

The professional development program, launched in October 2025 and continuing through June 2026, brings together principals and teachers of Armenian diaspora schools on a single platform, with the goal of rethinking and strengthening Armenian education within communities.

Since its launch, the program has already registered more than 220 participants from over 35 countries worldwide, demonstrating both the importance and the high demand for the initiative.

The training is conducted in an online format:

  • duration — 8 months,

  • frequency — twice a month,

  • each session — 2 hours.

The program aims to provide diaspora schools with modern and practical tools to:

  • work effectively with the new generation,

  • motivate and lead students and parents,

  • activate community life and unite Armenians around national values,

  • as well as create a sustainable environment for experience exchange.

Content-wise, the programme is structured around three main areas:

Education
Strengthening participants’ professional capacities through modern pedagogy, leadership, learning psychology, and innovative methods, fostering a human-centered and values-based educational environment.

Culture
Promoting the integration of Armenian culture into the educational process as a powerful tool for preserving identity and values-based education, offering practical methods and approaches.

Community
Developing school–community connections, enhancing the role of schools in community life, and creating new opportunities for collaboration and exchange of experience.

The program’s speakers are experienced and leading professionals in the fields of formal and non-formal education, culture, and psychology.

The program has been presented to the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and has received a positive conclusion from the “Center for Educational Development and Innovation” foundation, once again highlighting its professional and educational value. Deputy Minister Artur Martirosyan proposed presenting the developed program and its implementation opportunities and discussing them  within the framework of the upcoming professional development program for diaspora teachers.

This initiative has also launched a new direction in M.A.M’s activities: a platform is planned to map the educational potential of the diaspora, which will serve the systemic transformation of diaspora education. Additional details on this direction will be presented soon.
